Abstract
Dementia is the most common disease globally and one of the leading causes of disability and disease burden worldwide. The proposed research was designed for the isolation and identification of cholinesterase inhibitors, anti-inflammatory compounds, and compounds that accentuate cardiac and oral toxicity. A comprehensive approach was designed to study dementia at the molecular level. Acetylcholinesterase is a class of anti-dementia target agents. The recent trend prevailing nowadays is to fight disorders with natural products, which also benefit secondary risk factors, and this trend is increasing day by day. The gas chromatography method was used for the identification of these organic compounds. Therefore, sesquiterpenoid & terpinen present in wild pistachio were selected for the current pilot study. The results suggest that alpha-eudesmol and terpinen-4-ol aid in inflammation by blocking cox-2, and do not induce adverse side effects on cardiac rhythm. Oral toxicity results, vital organ toxicity, and chemical properties of ligands were tabulated. The mentioned molecule may be treated as a prospective new anti-inflammatory and anti-dementia candidate.
