Abstract
Six new highly oxygenated cephalotane-type diterpenoids and/or norditerpenoids, ceforloids A–F (1–6), were isolated and characterized by comprehensive analysis of spectroscopic data. Compound 1 possesses a new norditerpenoid skeleton featuring an unusual acetophenone moiety, and originated putatively via an entirely disparate biogenetic pathway. Compounds 4 and 5 incorporate a unique 12,13-p-hydroxybenzylidene acetal motif. Compound 6 represents the second cephalotane-type diterpenoid glycoside, showing moderate immunosuppressive activity against T lymphocyte cells with an IC50 value of 1.93 μM and good selectivity (SI = 22.8).
